A noise complaint sounds like a simple problem, but it isn't — sound can reflect off surfaces, get absorbed by soft materials, or transmit straight through a wall or door into the next room. A fix that targets the wrong one won't actually solve anything, no matter how nice it looks.

Your job is to figure out which of those three is actually letting band room sound bleed into the library, and propose a real fix that fits inside a real budget.

What you will do in this problem

  • Propose an itemized fix that fits inside a real materials budget.
